Data Science Program Lead II

AbbVie seeks a Data Science Program Lead II to serve as the clinical data management expert for assigned pharmaceutical trials. This role owns data collection strategy, oversees data quality, manages cross-functional stakeholder communication, and drives on-time study delivery through risk-based monitoring and continuous process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Own data collection, cleaning, and database lock strategies to ensure high-quality, inspection-ready study delivery
• Lead risk-based and continuous data review strategies from study initiation through database lock using centralized monitoring and clinical data science methodologies
• Identify data quality trends, communicate site-level actions, and maintain data currency to support timely study decisions
• Perform data mining and custom analytics to generate operational metrics and develop dashboards supporting study execution
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, GCP, ICH Guidelines, and AbbVie SOPs; mentor team members and lead process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences, or equivalent; master's preferred
• 6+ years pharmaceutical, clinical research, data management, or healthcare experience; or 8+ years project management experience
• In-depth understanding of clinical trial processes and clinical technology platforms
• Demonstrated functional leadership and ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
• Strong analytical and effective communication skills
• Experience coaching and mentoring in a matrix environment
