Budget Analyst

Summary This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Global Affairs, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia. Responsibilities As a Budget Analyst, you will: Research and compile budget data used to develop budget estimates, justifications, and funding requirements. Review budget submissions, obligations, and expenditures to ensure compliance with established financial policies and procedures. Develop recurring and special budget reports that communicate the status of funds, expenses, and obligations. Maintain budget databases and tracking systems used to monitor obligations, expenditures, and fund availability. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Supporting budget formulation activities for organizational programs. Analyzing budget information to support fund management. Preparing budget reports for management review. Maintaining financial tracking systems for budget execution. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related in a field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled. *Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
