Part-Time & Full Time Caregiver – Dementia Care Specialist

 

Whole Life Home Care |  Valley Center & Encinitas, CA 

Pay: $21–$22/hour   Schedule: Part-time & Full time shifts available

About the Role

Whole Life Home Care is looking for a compassionate, experienced caregiver who specializes in dementia and Alzheimer's care to join our team. You'll provide one-on-one, in-home support to a client in the Valley Center and Encinitas area, helping them maintain dignity, comfort, and quality of life. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, attentive, and genuinely enjoys building trust with clients living with memory loss.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and person-centered care tailored to clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility)
• Help redirect and de-escalate confusion, agitation, or anxiety using dementia-friendly communication techniques
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
• Support light housekeeping, laundry, and meal cleanup
• Maintain a safe, structured home environment (fall prevention, wandering precautions)
• Accompany clients to appointments or on outings as needed
• Track and communicate changes in condition, behavior, or routine to family and care team
• Follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate care logs

Qualifications

• Prior experience caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other memory-related conditions required
• Caregiver certification (HHA/CNA) preferred, but not always required — relevant experience will be considered
• Patient, calm, and reassuring demeanor, especially in moments of confusion or distress
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a background check and provide references
• CPR/First Aid certification a plus
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for senior care

Schedule & Location

• Part-time hours, serving clients in Valley Center, and Full time hours, serving clients in Encinitas.
• Specific days/hours to be discussed based on client needs and caregiver availability

Compensation

• $21–$22 per hour, depending on experience and skill level
