Senior Clinical Specialist

About the Role Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business is advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough technology in atrial fibrillation. As an EP Clinical Specialist you will provide advanced engineering, sales, education and technical support for EP products in response to complex field inquiries from physicians, health‑care professionals, patients and field‑sales staff. Key Responsibilities Provide engineering, sales, education and clinical support for EP products, handling complex field inquiries. Exercise independent judgment, monitor performance, and report status to management. Act as senior clinical interface, building relationships with customers and sharing product expertise. Identify customer needs, product performance and sales opportunities and advise sales and management to drive growth. Develop, lead or facilitate training and educational programs on EP products for healthcare professionals. Provide regional EP procedural case coverage and back‑up support to EP Sales Representatives (sales support, regional training, clinical studies, troubleshooting, new-product in‑service training). Mentor less experienced Clinical Specialists and contribute to continuous skill development. Stay current on field developments, regulatory requirements, company and competitor products and industry trends. Resolve or facilitate solutions to prevent recurrence of problems, and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (required). Minimum 1 year in a related position. Minimum 3 years of clinical experience (internal or external). Prior industry or competitive experience (if external). IBHRE EP certification and a record of top performance among peers. Ability to perform complex EP cases independently and mentor others on complex mapping. Ability to conduct complex customer education events alone to sell the full EP portfolio. Performance in the top half of case volume within the clinical group at promotion. Compliance with vendor credentialing requirements, including COVID‑19 vaccination, with accommodations available. Benefits and Compensation Base salary: $78,000 – $156,000 (varies by location).
