Position: Director of Sales Job Summary The questionis, can you generate sales? Are youdriven to generate sales? Do you know what is important for a successful sale? Asthe Director of Sales, you will be responsible for revenue production for hotelswhile meeting or exceeding planned revenue objectives for occupancy and averagedaily rate (ADR). You must know how tosell the “product”. Job Responsibilities Direct the day-to-day activities of the sales department;plan, organize, and assign work as needed, develop and communicatestrategies and goals, train and advise team of policies and procedures;develop business through direct sales solicitation; secure new clients; maintainexisting clients while executing sales plans strategy to maximizeprofitability of the hotel; follow up on leads to gain additional business Increase profitable sales volume by meeting and exceeding thefinancial and proactive selling goals established by executive management;ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and client communicationsare complete and documented. Develop and assist with marketing and sales strategy based onthe strengths within each market segment; implement marketing and salesplan; become familiar with the hotel demand segment and takes advantage ofhotel’s strengths against competitors while analyzing the competitors’ strengthsand weaknesses. Analyze current/potential market sales and trends; coordinateall activity to maintain and increase revenue and market share throughadded business volume and increase rate; conduct ongoing competitorpricing and product analysis to ensure proper rate positioning and productoffering relative to the competition Prepares departmental budget that reflects the hotel’sbusiness plan; forecast occupancy fluctuations and direct sellingactivities to maximize revenue; forecast occupancy changes based on marketconditions; meet or exceed budgeted revenue per available room (REVPAR) forthe hotel Achieve sales revenue goals by managing to sell in-houseguests (this may include greeting tours, converse with guests during thecontinental breakfast and the rest of their stay with us) and room nightsthrough outside sales calls, telemarketing, hotel site visits to includebanquet facilities and tours, networking events; etc. Support Guest Services as the hotel’s driving philosophy;demonstrates a commitment to Guest Services by responding to guests needsand providing resolution; execute the operational aspects of businessbooked (generating proposals, contracts, and guest correspondence) Perform other tasks as necessary or required to meet orexceed guest satisfaction Professional Experience High school graduate or equivalent andtwo to three years work-related experience (Sales experience required) One year of progressive Salesexperience Industry Experience Previous experience in the hospitalityindustry (preferred) Experience in hospitality sales,policies, and procedures (preferred) Required Skills Must be able totravel – up to 20% Persuasive interpersonal skills,self-directed, and independent Ability to work in a fast-pacedenvironment Must be flexible to work variedschedules Excellent written and oral communicationskills Ability to multi-task, listenattentively, problem-solve, and pay attention to detail Essential Skills Ability to express compassionwhile remaining composed; ability to remain calm and focused while workingunder pressure Ability to understand financialdocuments, information, data, etc.; and the ability to integrate Promote the property bydemonstrating a “top-notch” attitude toward our guests which includesanticipating the guests needs – be proactive Ensure that you are always apositive representation of the property; embrace and respect diversity andmulti-cultural environments Benefits RAM Hotels hires the best people, we work extremely hard toprovide benefits that make work-life balance that much more enjoyable.
