Job Title: SOLUTION ARCHITECT L2 (CONTRACT) City: Dearborn Posting Start Date: 6/25/26 Job Description GCP We are seeking a seasoned Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Architect to partner with product teams in the automotive domain, guiding them through application migration and modernization from on‑premise data centers to GCP. This role requires strong consulting skills, architectural leadership, and hands‑on experience with large‑scale modernization programs, with an added focus on leveraging Cloud‑Native Architecture and GenAI to accelerate transformation. Key Responsibilities Application Modernization: Assess legacy applications (Struts/JSF/Liberty WAS, .NET/Classic ASP, Mainframes, COTS, MS‑SQL, Oracle) and define target state architectures on GCP. Cloud Adoption Leadership: Drive consistent GCP adoption across 1500+ applications spanning multiple business units. Consulting Engagement: Collaborate with product teams to evaluate workloads, estimate cloud costs, and support execution of modernization strategies. Thought Leadership: Provide architectural guidance, best practices, and frameworks to ensure scalable, secure, and cost‑effective cloud solutions. Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted advisor to client leadership and product teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise cloud strategy. Governance & Standards: Establish architectural patterns, guardrails, and reusable assets to accelerate adoption. Execution Support: Partner with engineering teams during migration and modernization phases to resolve technical challenges. Must-Have Skills & Experience GCP Expertise: Deep knowledge of core GCP services (Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud SQL, PubSub, MemoryStore, GCS, Networking, IAM, etc.). Application Modernization Experience: Proven track record in modernizing legacy applications across diverse technology stacks. Cloud‑Native Architecture: Hands‑on experience designing and implementing microservices, containerized workloads (Kubernetes/GKE), serverless solutions, and event‑driven architectures. Architectural Mindset: Ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure architectures in cloud environments. Consulting Skills: Strong client‑facing communication, advisory, and presentation skills. Large‑Scale Programs: Experience leading or contributing to enterprise‑wide cloud adoption journeys. Desired Skills & Experience Automotive Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with industry‑specific applications and modernization challenges. Cost Optimization: Experience in estimating and optimizing cloud spend for large portfolios. DevOps & CI/CD: Exposure to modern engineering practices supporting cloud‑native delivery. GenAI Enablement: Experience leveraging Generative AI (e.g., Vertex AI, LLMs) to accelerate application modernization, automate assessments, and enhance developer productivity. Change Management: Ability to influence organizational adoption of new technologies and practices. Mandatory Skills: App-Cloud-Google.Experience: >10 YEARS. Expected compensation ranges from $100,000 to $185,000, depending on location, qualifications, and experience.
