Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro PCU position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring Epic experience and NIHSS certification. Requirements Active Virginia state or Compact RN license; pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management, including Rapid Response and Code team participation Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care Experience with cardiac drips (non-titrating) and medication administration Respiratory support skills including nasal cannula, O2 administration, and non-invasive airway management Experience with isolation precautions Two professional references required for consideration Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration Responsibilities Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 AM–7:15 PM) Weekend requirement of every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block Must work one holiday per 13-week contract Patient ratio of 1:4–5; candidates should be comfortable with a 1:5 ratio Adult neurological patient population including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, neuro-specific diagnoses, and medical overflow Unit includes 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring Floating required to units within the traveler's clinical skillset Charting via Epic (experience required) Position is located at a 703-bed acute care Magnet-designated teaching hospital affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine The facility is the region's only Level I Trauma Center and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center with 24/7 neurointerventional coverage Blocked scheduling can be accommodated; all RTO and special scheduling requests must be submitted at time of consideration Local candidates are accepted; a radius rule applies to determine pay rate eligibility First-time travelers are welcome to apply Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-720334 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr
