Senior Staff Database Engineer

Role Overview Join ServiceNow's SWAT team to ensure production stability of customer applications and infrastructure services. As a Senior Staff Database Engineer, you will support the infrastructure by learning the platform from end to end, troubleshoot complex issues in large-scale distributed systems, and develop observability tooling and automation. What You Will Do Become an SME in production database troubleshooting, ServiceNow instance performance, and Linux performance analysis. Own complex incident root cause analysis across multi-tenant PostgreSQL/MariaDB fleets at scale. Develop observability tooling and automation to prevent recurrence of critical issues. Why It Might Be a Fit You will be successful in this role if you have experience in leveraging AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, and have deep PostgreSQL expertise, including MVCC, transaction management, and advanced query performance tuning.
