Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This pharmacy role focuses on delivering expert pharmaceutical care within a Long Term Care and Mail Order environment. The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotating weekend shifts every third Saturday and Sunday (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM). This contract-to-hire opportunity spans approximately 26 weeks, offering the chance to transition into a permanent role.

Key responsibilities include accurately accepting and dispensing prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal standards. You will monitor patient medication use to prevent over-usage and verify the appropriateness of prescribed medicines. Maintaining confidential patient records meticulously and managing pharmacy files are essential components of this role.

Providing clear, professional consultation to patients regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications, their dosages, storage, and potential side effects is vital. Services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure measurement, cholesterol management, and education on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters will also be part of your duties. The position involves compounding medications, including sterile solutions, under appropriate protocols.

Supervision of pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, is required along with maintaining adequate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and communicate drug-related issues is critical to patient care.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacy license
• Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy preferred
• Mail order pharmacy experience considered a plus
• Sterile compounding skills a strong advantage
