These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.Job Summary:The Field Service/Support Engineer will service, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance (including installation and training) on Teledyne FLIR Detection instruments in house or at customer sites all over the world.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Perform installation of Teledyne FLIR hardware and software in the field.Provide training on the use of product hardware and software both at Teledyne FLIR and in the fieldTroubleshoot and repair Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) and Bio instruments both at Teledyne FLIR and in the field.Be knowledgeable and proficient on all Teledyne FLIR Detection – Mass Spectrometry and Bio products and services including handhelds (explosives and radiation)Manage and resolve in a professional, pleasant and responsive manner incoming product support.Document appropriate questions, techniques and solutions in the product knowledge base (JIRA program or formal documentation).Participate in ongoing internal training programs.Job Qualifications:AS/ASEET and 2 years of directly relevant work experience, or BS/MS in Chemistry/Engineering/Electronic EngineeringStrong customer service orientation/skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with team members and customers.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Able and willing to travel domestic 25%+ to customer sites.Able and willing to travel international 20% + to customer sitesAbility to lift up to 80 pounds.Proven experience required in the assembly and repair of systems a plusPrior military experience a plus.Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
