Position Summary

Our family-based program provides comprehensive in-home therapy and family support services for kids with emotional or behavioral conditions and their families. It focuses on physical, mental, social, and academic development, with family support to encourage positive growth and change for the entire family unit.

Family-based therapists work in teams of two to identify family strengths and needs and establish goals for positive outcomes. They provide services primarily in consumers' homes. Family-based therapists attend state training programs to develop tools and practices that support quality services in their work environment.

DESCRIPTION

Clinical Assessment & Treatment

\n
• Function as the lead therapist on the Family-Based treatment team in conjunction with the Bachelor’s level clinician and Family-Based director/supervisor.
\n
• Responsible for implementing clinical interventions and the writing and completion of treatment goals, safety plans, and implementation of them in treatment sessions with consumers and family members.
\n
• Be able to conduct assessments of strengths and safety, which include physical, emotional, social, and moral safety; assist consumers in accessing community resources; provide crisis stabilization; and case manage all services (agency and community) involved with the consumers/family.
\n
• Have a working knowledge and expertise of family, individual, group, and parent therapy modalities, the S.E.L.F. model (Safety, Emotions, Loss, and Future), and utilize them appropriately with consumers and family members.
\n
• Follow through with treatment interventions, interagency meetings, and aftercare plans as defined by the regulations and supervision.
\n
• Conduct insurance authorizations and review with managed care organizations to establish medical necessity for the program.
\n
• Trained and certified in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) and able to successfully perform these interventions and techniques.

Training & Supervision

\n
• Attend the 3-year agency-paid FB training program (17 days per year plus 3-day first-year startup training) and comply with all expectations and requirements of the training.
\n
• Provide 24/7 on-call services on a rotating basis with other staff.
\n
• Receive 1.5 hours of clinical team supervision per week with director/supervisor to openly communicate any issues, concerns, and review treatment of consumers and families. Also receive 6 hours per month of group supervision with director/supervisor.
\n
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in current treatment modalities and training information, to include the Sanctuary Model.
\n
• Maintain a working knowledge of agency policies and procedures and follow accordingly.
\n

  Position Requirements

\n
• A graduate degree in psychology, social work, nursing, education, rehabilitation, or a graduate degree in the field of human services plus 2 years’ experience in a CASSP system program or
\n
• Be a licensed registered nurse (RN) with 5 years’ experience, including 2 years of experience in a CASSP system program, plus have a certification by the Office of Mental Health (OMH) as a mental health family-based worker
\n
• Act 33 and 34 Clearances, Act 114 FBI, Act 31 Training
\n
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report in accordance with Center Policy.
\n
• Solid organizational skills and time-management skills
\n
• Ability to think clearly during times of crisis and define safety plans with staff and/or consumers
\n
• Must demonstrate emotional intelligence when dealing with conflict between staff and/or consumers. Must be able to negotiate, navigate, and coordinate the multiple services involved in Referrals and consumer cases
\n
• Must be able to utilize CPI interventions and techniques according to Center Policy and procedure in accordance with CPI training.
