Position Overview Our Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice focuses on serving upper middle market and large cap private equity firms who engage A&M to improve operating results at their portfolio companies. Within PEPI, the Sports, Media, and Entertainment (SM&E) team works with investors, operators, and corporate stakeholders to assess M&A opportunities, mitigate risk, and drive value creation across the investment lifecycle. Senior Associate – M&A & Performance Improvement (Sports, Media & Entertainment) This role supports private equity and corporate clients through complex transactions, working across the full deal lifecycle. Responsibilities include executing integrations, carve‑outs, separations, and performance improvement programs that drive sustainable value creation and maximize investment outcomes. Responsibilities Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues and owning key deliverables. Leverage advanced financial modeling and analytical tools to structure and analyze large, complex datasets, driving insights and decision‑making. Communicate oral and written findings, lead client interactions, facilitate working sessions, present to senior stakeholders, and translate analytical outputs into clear, actionable insights. Own and maintain key client deliverables—including synergy and performance improvement models, cost models, and integration trackers—ensuring accuracy and executive‑ready quality. Give informal leadership by coordinating across workstreams, ensuring alignment on priorities, providing coaching and guidance, and supporting team development. Qualifications 4–6+ years of professional experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development with a track record of M&A, ideally in the SM&E space. Experience in integration or separation planning and execution is a plus, but not required. MBA preferred. Eager to learn about core operations of SM&E. Initiative and drive. Critical thinking skills. Flexibility to travel up to 75% of the time. Benefits Summary Full‑time positions and part‑time positions over 30 hours per week are eligible for Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, disability, and a 401(k) retirement plan with discretionary company contribution. Benefits also cover paid time off, including vacation, personal days, sick time, federal holidays, floating holiday, and parental leave. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $170,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus based on performance. Specifics vary by education, experience, skills, and location.
