Sterile Processing - Sterile Processing Manager Profession: Manager Specialty: Reprocessing Services Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience with increasing scope of responsibility. License: Certification required Certifications: BLS and CRCST Must-Have: Must have prior sterile processing manager experience. Experience in Ortho, Oral, ENT, Eyes, Robotics, Urology, GYN, Plastics, General, Neuro, and Pediatrics is essential. Description:Manages and plans the activities of the Central Sterile Processing function.Oversees the collection, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, high-level disinfection, distribution, and inventory management.Ensures optimal sterile processing performance through quality control and quality assurance of all sterile processing activities and equipment.Monitors and reports equipment operational status.Recommends equipment changes, upgrades, and additions to meet manufacturer's instructions for all items processed.Establishes a preventive maintenance program for sterile processing equipment.Maintains an adequate inventory of equipment to meet requirements.Communicates effectively with staff and vendor representatives.Represents the department by attending appropriate meetings.Ensures departmental standards of operation and policies comply with regulatory and professional agencies.Maintains continued education and proficiency in the field of sterile processing operations and equipment.Serves as a technical expert regarding product reprocessing, decontamination, and sterilization.Demonstrates correct processes and procedures to staff.Develops a comprehensive orientation for new staff.Coordinates training and competency validation for all staff.Ensures staff work is performed within prescribed technical and safety standards.Provides or coordinates instructions and in-service on new products and equipment.Ensures staff attends technical and mandatory training/education.Supervises surgical reprocessing staff to achieve established operational performance and quality goals.Schedules staff and work to ensure cases have instruments and equipment available when needed.Monitors and adheres to labor and expense budgets.Develops and submits the departmental budget.Maintains fiscally responsible practices to meet budget expectations.Demonstrates core customer service responsibilities and values including communication, ownership, understanding, motivation, sensitivity, excellence, teamwork, and respect.Possesses personal qualities such as being self-directed, flexible, committed to team concepts, and open to new learning experiences.Accepts and respects diversity without judgment.Demonstrates customer service values. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet Health
