About the Position

Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Central Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment, 36 hours per week, night shift. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. Patient ratios of 1:2. Six orientation hours provided.

Highlights:

• High-volume maternal care unit with approximately 2,000 annual deliveries
• Diverse case mix including low-risk certified nurse midwife population and high-risk maternal-fetal medicine patients
• Modern facility with 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
• Epic charting system; cross-training opportunities to Mother/Baby and NICU (feeders/growers)
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off available during contract

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license (or pending; must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and Fetal Monitoring
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to circulate for cesarean sections (required skill)
• Competency in high-risk and low-risk obstetrical care, including antepartum, triage, postpartum hemorrhage management, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Willingness to float to Mother/Baby and NICU (feeders/growers) as needed
• BSN preferred
