About the Role
The Company is in search of a Head of Operations Engineering to spearhead the engineering function for its highly automated U.S. manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the site's long-term manufacturing excellence and operations engineering strategy. This includes leading and developing a local team of manufacturing engineers and technical experts, ensuring the organization has the necessary engineering resources and technical capabilities to support current production and future growth, and serving as a technical and cultural mentor across engineering and manufacturing functions. The role also involves close partnership with production, quality, supply chain, and development leadership to resolve complex manufacturing issues, driving structured problem-solving, and leading engineering efforts to improve manufacturing reliability, throughput, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness. Applicants for the Head of Operations Engineering position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, with a minimum of 10 years in medical device development, engineering, and/or manufacturing. A strong background in manufacturing technologies, particularly in injection molding, automated assembly, and packaging, is essential. The role requires a leader with a deep understanding of regulations and quality requirements in medical device manufacturing, experience in process and equipment qualification/validation, and a proven track record in automation and manufacturing digitalization. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, and experience in managing complex technical projects. The position demands a highly organized, disciplined individual capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to lead, coach, and develop highly skilled engineering teams.
