Director of Preconstruction & Estimating

Great projects are won long before construction begins. HB Construction is looking for a Director of Preconstruction & Estimating to lead our preconstruction team and help shape how we pursue, plan, and position projects for success. This is a leadership role for someone who combines deep estimating expertise with strong business judgment, client relationships, and a passion for developing people. What You'll Do Lead and develop HB's preconstruction and estimating team Partner with executive leadership and operations on opportunity selection, risk, and project strategy Build trusted relationships with clients, design partners, and trade partners Strengthen estimating standards, cost data, market intelligence, and preconstruction processes Lead value analysis, constructability, procurement, and cost strategy Ensure a strong transition from preconstruction to operations Advance the use of technology and data across preconstruction What You'll Bring 10+ years of progressive commercial construction experience Proven leadership experience in preconstruction and estimating Strong knowledge of conceptual estimating, GMP development, constructability, procurement, and project risk Experience leading and developing high performing teams Strong client communication and presentation skills The ability to think strategically while staying connected to the details Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred Why HB Construction At HB, we believe great leadership creates clarity, develops people, and makes the entire team better.
