About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year of experience required for first-time travelers accepted License: Active RN License (MD or Compact) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: 1 year of experience Ability to float within specialty as required Required certifications Description: Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. Position involves a 3x12 hour day shift schedule from 07:00 to 19:30. Self-scheduling with every other weekend commitment is required. Average daily census is 30 patients with a bed capacity of 30. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5/6. Required to manage multiple patient diagnoses including medical/surgical, pulmonary, neurology, cardiac, gastroenterology, renal, GU, endocrine, and orthopedic cases. Certifications needed include MD RN, BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI. Every other weekend and holiday availability is required. Floating within the specialty and lower acuity units may be necessary. Skills required include managing ports, CPAP/BiPAP, blood product administration, central line care, and telemetry monitoring. Must demonstrate proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs and managing various patient treatments and conditions. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services among others. Patient age groups served range from infants to geriatrics, ensuring a diverse clinical experience. Daily responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure optimum patient outcomes.
