Manual Machinist

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a skilled Manual Machinist job in Spartanburg, SC. In this hands‑on, precision‑driven role, you will be responsible for machining high‑quality parts using manual equipment, and reading blueprints. Responsibilities Operating horizontal and vertical milling machines, lathes, radial manual machines, drill taps, key seaters, and band saws. Performing quality checks on parts produced to ensure accuracy and consistency. Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings using precision measuring devices. Operating overhead crane and/or forklift as needed. Following all safety rules and maintaining a clean work area. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in a machine shop using manual machines. Ability to set up and operate multiple machines including horizontal and vertical milling machines. Experience with crane and forklift operations. Ability to perform pattern and hole layouts for structural steel and/or fabricated parts. High school diploma or equivalent (Machine Tool Technology degree a plus).
