Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Houston, TX LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a growing organization in Houston, TX. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining general ledger accuracy Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial records Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies or variances Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation tracking, and account maintenance Prepare account schedules and supporting documentation for audits Assist with financial reporting and internal management reports Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial information Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and workflows Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close activities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis Experience with ERP or accounting software systems Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and problem solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with fixed assets, lease accounting, or complex reconciliations Public accounting or corporate accounting background Advanced Excel skills Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $31-$38 per hour Opportunity for career advancement Collaborative and professional work environment Comprehensive benefits package available Pay Details: $31.00 to $37.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
