Junior Accountant

Position Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Junior Accountant with hands-on billing and payroll experience to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and experience supporting accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll processing, reconciliations, and general accounting functions.


This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving discrepancies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of an organization. MUST LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA. This is an in-person position.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Accounts Receivable


Process billing transactions and maintain accurate customer account records.


Post and reconcile customer payments.


Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.


Maintain accurate billing documentation and supporting records.


Payroll


Assist with processing bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll.


Review employee time records, hours, deductions, mileage, and other payroll information for accuracy.


Coordinate payroll adjustments and corrections as needed.


Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger.


Maintain confidential payroll records and documentation.


Assist with payroll-related reporting and tax documentation.


General Accounting


Perform bank, credit card, A/R, and other account reconciliations.


Assist with accounts payable and expense processing.


Maintain accurate general ledger records.


Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.


Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and account schedules.


Research discrepancies and makes corrections as appropriate.


Qualifications


1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, billing, payroll, or related experience.


Previous hands-on billing and payroll experience required or strongly preferred.


Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.


Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.


Experience with payroll, or accounting software.


Strong Microsoft Excel skills.


Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.


Strong organizational and time-management skills.


Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and employee information.


Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


The successful candidate is organized, accurate, trustworthy, and proactive. You should be comfortable working with payroll and billing data, identifying discrepancies, meeting deadlines, and handling confidential information.
