Position Summary

The Three-Year-Old Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children can learn and grow through play and structured activities. The teacher will encourage independence, curiosity, and social development while introducing early academic concepts that prepare children for VPK.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play.
• Teach early learning concepts including:
• • Letter recognition
  • Number recognition and counting
  • Colors and shapes
  • Name recognition and tracing
  • Fine motor and pre-writing skills
  • Early science and sensory exploration
  • Music, movement, and creative art
• Encourage language development through stories, songs, conversations, and hands-on activities.
• Promote positive social and emotional development by teaching sharing, kindness, patience, problem-solving, and independence.
• Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Follow daily schedules and routines, including circle time, centers, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions.
• Complete daily reports and communicate with parents regarding their child's day and progress.
• Observe children's development and report any concerns to administration.
• Follow all licensing regulations and health and safety procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and required training sessions.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers and administration to create a positive school environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred).
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• A genuine love for working with young children.
