Freelance Software Engineer - Halifax

Salary: $90,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

• We bring 2+ years of experience in backend engineering, AI automation, or complex systems integration.
• We can design and maintain production-ready software with clear modular boundaries, such as separate services for parsing, logic handling, and reporting.
• We have strong proficiency in at least two major programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, Go, or Java, and we are comfortable working with SQL databases.
• We have practical experience building in live, real-world environments and managing multi-step system interactions.
• We pay close attention to detail and can deliver concise, high-value technical feedback on intricate system behavior.
• It is a plus if we have built multi-stage coordination workflows where information gathering leads to well-reasoned outcomes.
• It is a plus if we have integrated agents with live tools such as Supabase, Gmail, and other APIs to solve practical problems.
• It is a plus if we are comfortable implementing persistent state and session tracking using MEMORY.md to monitor agent progress.
• It is a plus if we can spot subtle issues such as privacy leaks, authority escalation, or indirect prompt injection.

• We help train advanced generative systems by providing human feedback on AI agent behavior.
• We support leading AI organizations in teaching large language models to operate as proactive, multi-step agents.
• We contribute to projects that train systems to design, coordinate, and optimize complex, real-world architectural workflows.
• We evaluate and refine agent orchestration performance across realistic scenarios.
• We identify and report nuanced system failures, edge cases, and behavioral weaknesses.
• We provide detailed technical observations that help improve autonomous agent capabilities.
