Description

The Assembler will be responsible for the fabrication and maintenance of component parts and products. They must also maintain tidy work areas and follow detailed instructions to meet safety and quality requirements. As an assembler, you must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. A top-notch assembler should have the ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal and written instructions.

Duties & Functions:

1. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Lone Star Reel standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the plant.
2. Using tools to make or repair parts and products.
3. Working with other members of the line or group to assemble products.
4. Keeping a clean and tidy workspace.
5. Identifying any defective items and handling them according to established procedures.
6. Follow all company and department procedures and policies.
7. Report emergencies and unusual situations immediately.
8. Outstanding work ethic.
9. Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and the safety program.
10. Willingness to learn some or all of the following skills:

• Use of power tools and hand tools
• Learn all aspects of the "reel" building process (we make lumber reels)
• Assemble precut boards using nail guns.
• Cut cardboard tubes using saw.
• Perform quality checks throughout the process.
• Stack products as needed

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred
• For safety reasons, you must be 18 years or older to be considered.

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to stand, bend, twist/squat, push, pull, reach during entire shift.
• Must be able to work in hot/ cold warehouse environment.
• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving, stacking, and wrapping reels. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and personal protective equipment is required (ear plugs, safety glasses, steel toe work shoes at minimum).

This position requires constant standing, walking, bending, and moving back and forth in the production line. Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, with reaching, pulling, pushing.
