Overview Business Development Manager, Private Brands Insight 2 Design is a unique, outdoor, athletic, and lifestyle products company. Position Job Title / Type: Sales Manager, Private Brands Location: Overland Park, KS or Bentonville, AR Direct Supervisor: CEO / Director of Business Development Position: The Business Development Manager, Private Brands will serve as a strategic partner to Walmart and Sam\'s Club merchants and product development teams. This individual will identify market opportunities, translate consumer and category insights into product concepts, and collaborate closely with Insight 2 Design\'s internal product development, sourcing, and marketing teams to bring innovative products to market. Success in this role requires a balance of strong business acumen, retail analytics, product development knowledge, and relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate understands how Walmart and Sam\'s Club evaluate opportunities, manage private brand assortments, and drive growth across both in-store and e-commerce channels. Responsibilities Build and maintain strategic relationships with Walmart and Sam\'s Club buyers, merchants, sourcing teams, and product developers. Identify category gaps, consumer trends, and market opportunities that can be translated into innovative private brand product solutions. Collaborate with internal product development teams from concept through commercialization, ensuring products align with retailer objectives and consumer demand. Develop compelling product presentations, line reviews, and business cases to secure retailer alignment and program growth. Leverage Retail Link, Scintilla/Luminate, Circana, industry reports, and other data sources to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and support fact-based selling. Experience in Walmart & Sam\'s Club Systems (i.e. Retail Link and all supporting apps such as Supplier One, Quote Management, etc.) Experience with Scintilla app and weekly sales reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Ability to plan and simultaneously manage projects involving multiple stakeholders in an organized, focused, and efficient way to meet objectives and deadlines. Partner with retailer teams to support assortment planning, modular reviews, seasonal opportunities, and omnichannel growth initiatives. Monitor competitive activity, emerging consumer trends, and category performance to inform product and business development strategies. Drive growth through a combination of innovation, category expertise, and collaborative customer partnerships. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing consumer trends, product innovation, retail strategy, and business performance. They enjoy building relationships with buyers and merchants, can navigate Walmart and Sam\'s Club organizations effectively, and understand how to bring new products from concept to shelf. They are data-driven, collaborative, and energized by identifying growth opportunities through innovation. Values & Skills Successful candidates will demonstrate the following: Strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively Extremely organized and demonstrate attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point Proactive, work quickly and possess the ability to meet tight deadlines High degree of flexibility and drive to see projects through to completion Self-motivated with ability to stay on task without supervision Requirements To perform the responsibilities of this position, candidates must fulfill the requirements below: Legal authorization to work in the US Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Strategic Communications, Marketing, Management or other related fields 3-7 years related experience in business development, category management, or account management Proficient computer skills using Microsoft applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint Experience in Walmart Systems (Retail Link, Scintilla/Luminate, Supplier One, Quote Management) Pay and Benefits Our benefits are some of the best that companies offer in the area.
