Staff Accountant

LaSalle Network is partnering with a growing organization to hire a Staff Accountant for a project-based opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 1-2 years of experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to build on their experience with reconciliations, month-end activities, customer invoicing, and financial operations.


You'll join a collaborative team supporting high-volume accounting processes while gaining hands-on experience with financial systems and cross-functional business operations.



Staff Accountant Responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliations of customer invoices related to freight audit activity
  
  
• Process carrier payments after customer payments have been received
  
  
• Support month-end close activities by preparing reconciliations and providing transaction details for assigned processes
  
  
• Contact customers weekly regarding outstanding balances and prepare invoices for service-related billing
  
  
• Manage accounting activities for approximately 165 customer accounts using proprietary systems
  
  
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies while partnering with internal teams to ensure timely resolution
  
  
• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records
  
  
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency

Staff Accountant Requirements

• 1-2 years of accounting experience, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, invoicing, accounts receivable, and month-end close
  
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  
  
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles
  
  
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and working with large datasets
  
  
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems
  
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
