Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Travel RN - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland Assignment Length: 13 Weeks Start Date: September 14, 2026 Shift: Nights, 3x12s (8:00 PM - 8:30 AM) Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment at a highly respected acute care hospital in Maryland. This position offers the opportunity to care for a diverse adult and geriatric patient population on a mixed Med Surg/Telemetry unit while working alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry skills, excellent clinical judgment, and experience managing a variety of medical-surgical conditions in a fast-paced hospital environment. Unit Details Unit Type: Medical Surgical / Telemetry Beds: 24 Average Daily Census: 18 Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5 Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics Common Diagnoses TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) COPD and other respiratory conditions Urology patients Gynecological patients Cellulitis and wound care Palliative care Infectious diseases Gastrointestinal conditions Early post-operative recovery patients Observation patients (greater than 24 hours) TR band monitoring following cardiac catheterization without intervention Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process Monitor telemetry and recognize/report cardiac rhythm changes Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately Perform focused patient assessments and document findings Monitor vital signs and evaluate changes in patient condition Review and interpret diagnostic testing and laboratory results Communicate patient status changes promptly to providers Maintain accurate and timely medical record documentation Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and cardiac health Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Ensure compliance with patient safety and quality standards Requirements Active Maryland RN License Current BLS Certification Minimum 1 year of Telemetry nursing experience preferred Strong Med Surg and telemetry monitoring experience Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards Excellent communication and documentation skills Ability to float within specialty and affiliated facilities as needed Schedule & Expectations Night Shift: 8:00 PM - 8:30 AM Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as scheduled Floating required within specialty and affiliated facilities On-call not required Benefits of This Assignment 13-week travel contract Stable 36-hour workweek Collaborative and supportive clinical environment Diverse patient population with a variety of diagnoses and skill-building opportunities Gain experience in a dynamic Med Surg/Telemetry setting Apply today to take your Med Surg/Telemetry expertise to one of Maryland's leading healthcare environments while enjoying a rewarding travel nursing experience.
