Senior Accountant / Financial Controller

BADMAASH is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to oversee the financial and accounting functions of our growing restaurant group.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day accounting while also providing clear financial reporting and insight to ownership. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, understands the operational realities of a multi-location business, and can help ensure that our financial systems, reporting, and controls are accurate, efficient, and reliable.

Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or another multi-unit business is strongly preferred.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations across multiple restaurant locations and related entities
• Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and other financial reporting
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations
• Monitor cash flow and provide ownership with clear visibility into cash position and upcoming obligations
• Maintain accurate intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• Review restaurant sales, deposits, comps, voids, refunds, and other transactional activity for accuracy
• Work with restaurant management and ownership to identify discrepancies and strengthen financial controls
• Oversee payroll accounting and coordinate with payroll providers as needed
• Track and reconcile sales tax, vendor payments, and other recurring financial obligations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Analyze food, beverage, labor, operating, and other costs and identify meaningful variances
• Develop and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures
• Coordinate with external CPAs, tax professionals, banks, insurance providers, and other financial partners
• Prepare documentation and schedules for tax filings, audits, and year-end accounting
• Improve existing accounting processes and systems as the company grows
• Provide ownership with concise, useful financial reporting and help translate financial data into actionable business insights

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• Experience managing month-end close and preparing financial statements
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, reconciliations, and financial controls
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and take ownership of financial processes
• Comfortable working directly with business owners and operational leadership
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Experience with restaurant, hospitality, retail, or multi-location accounting strongly preferred
• Accounting/finance degree preferred, but not required for candidates with substantial relevant experience

We’re looking for someone who goes beyond simply recording transactions. This person should understand the numbers, recognize when something doesn’t look right, ask the right questions, and help us build stronger financial systems as the company continues to evolve.

You should be equally comfortable digging into the details of a reconciliation and stepping back to give ownership a clear picture of the financial health of the business.
