SAP S/4HANA ABAP Developer Senior

Role Description

SMX is seeking a Senior S/4HANA SAP ABAP Developer to support an SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation project for a large government contract. As a Senior Developer, you will be involved in every stage of the application lifecycle, from design to deployment. This role is remote supporting a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Convert user requirements into technical design specifications and develop ABAP solutions aligned with those designs.
• Lead or guide other developers in maintainable development practices and during code reviews.
• Operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment leveraging Agile/Scrum methodologies to quickly build solutions based on customer requirements.
• Learn new technologies and recommend improvements to business processes.
• Demonstrate strong technical skills, proactive problem solving, quick learning, and excellent communication with clients.

• Due to contract requirements, this position requires U.S. citizenship and the successful completion of a background check prior to onboarding.
• Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance.
• 6+ years of SAP ABAP development and overall SAP experience.
• Experience with S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience integrating backend SAP and non-SAP applications.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ABAP development and HANA CDS Views.

Qualifications

• Implementation experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Proficiency in working with web services, proxies, and APIs for system integration.
• Extensive technical expertise and hands-on experience with a wide range of ABAP technologies, including Reports, RFCs, Forms, Object-Oriented ABAP (OOP), BAPIs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and Data Conversions (BDC, LSMW, IDocs, ALE, and Workflows).
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations.
• Public Trust clearance.

Requirements

• Experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Certifications in Application Development, SAP BTP, or Agile methodologies.
