Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients on a palliative/med-surg unit, including symptom management and end-of-life care as needed.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vitals, administer medications, and manage IV therapy, wound care, and other standard med-surg tasks.
- Utilize patient-controlled analgesia pumps when applicable and collaborate with the care team to adjust plans based on patient response.
- Communicate and document patient status, develop and refine care plans, and coordinate with physicians, case managers, and other disciplines.
- Support families and patients in crisis, advocate for goals of care, and ensure continuity of care through discharge planning and transitions.
- Maintain safety, infection control practices, and regulatory compliance; respond to changes in patient condition and call bells as needed.

Requirements
- Active New York State RN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of recent palliative or acute med-surg experience
- Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification highly desired
- Ability to work in a hospital travel assignment and manage care for patients with complex needs
