Job Description

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – OB/Med Surg for a 13-week travel assignment. The position will primarily work night shifts and requires an RN with OB experience who is also willing to float to the Med Surg unit as needed.

Because the facility does not always have labor patients, the selected RN must be comfortable providing care in both OB and Med Surg settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to OB and Med Surg patients.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Provide appropriate care for obstetric patients according to established standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Support patient and family education and provide compassionate care.
• Float to the Med Surg unit as needed based on patient census and facility needs.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and applicable nursing standards.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality-of-care standards.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Shift: Primarily nights / rotating nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Floating: Must be willing to float to Med Surg as needed
• Call: Not specified
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to practice in Nebraska.
• Previous clinical nursing experience in an OB setting.
• Ability and willingness to work in both OB and Med Surg.
• Ability to work rotating night shifts.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-care skills.
• Ability to adapt to the needs of a Critical Access Hospital environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous OB/Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred.
• Previous Med Surg experience preferred.
• Travel nursing experience is a plus.
