Speech and Language Pathologist

Overview Job title: Speech and Language Pathologist (NS). Department: Child and Family Well‑Being. Division: Infant–Toddler Program. Position number: 60040166. Grade: MH17. Location: Burke County, Morganton/Hickory CDSA. This role evaluates and provides therapy to children ages birth to 3 years with speech/language and developmental needs as part of the Infant–Toddler Program. Responsibilities Provide speech and language therapy evaluations and treatment for children ages birth to 3. Conduct developmental evaluations to determine eligibility for the Infant–Toddler Program. Assess child and family needs for early intervention supports and services, including evaluation for appropriate assistive technology. Participate in a multidisciplinary team at the Morganton/Hickory Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CDSA). Maintain accurate documentation and reports to meet federal and state requirements. Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and team members. Provide services in natural environments such as home and community settings. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology. North Carolina Speech‑Language Pathology License. Valid driver’s license. Working knowledge of early intervention practices and referral resources. Knowledge of speech‑language pathology theory, techniques, and principles. Knowledge of communicative disorders common in populations birth‑to‑3. Ability to administer and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., Bayley‑4, DAYC). Ability to maintain accurate documentation meeting federal and state requirements. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport with families and collaborate to achieve optimal outcomes. Knowledge of infant‑toddler development and family‑centered early intervention practices. Experience working in natural environments (home/community). Ability to participate effectively in interdisciplinary evaluations. Salary and Benefits Recruitment range: $50,022 – $69,217. The position is 100% funded through federal funds.
