Associate Fund Controller

Location: New York City or San Francisco (hybrid; 2 days per week in office) About the Team The Operations Team is the driving force behind our customers' success. We are the primary point of contact for customers and their investors, handling support cases, providing product feedback, and expertly managing SPVs and funds from formation to closing and beyond. About the Opportunity As an Associate Fund Controller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our SPV and fund clients throughout the lifecycle of their investment vehicles, navigating complex investment transactions and providing critical support to internal teams in a fast‑growing, dynamic environment. What you'll do Manage post-closing events for Sydecar’s SPV and Fund+ products including transfers of interest, conversions, and realizations Serve as an escalation contact for other members of the Customer Experience team as they encounter complex investment structures Provide exceptional customer service as you lead onboarding calls with newly‑signed fund customers, and manage the relationship on an ongoing basis Assist with quarterly management fee payments and prepare financial reporting packages for fund clients and investors Ensure standardization across the team by developing thoughtful, repeatable standard operating procedures Prepare and review distribution calculations Set up and review payments to companies and investors What we're looking for 5+ years of experience with Fund Accountant or Controller positions Strong understanding of venture capital/private equity structures and operations Proficiency in US GAAP Exceptional attention to detail, process driven, and highly organized, with an eye for process/product improvement Strong communication skills with a passion for client service and creating positive customer experiences High proficiency with Excel Experience working in a technology‑driven organization Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field You’ll enjoy these benefits Competitive salary and bonus program PTO and sick leave Generously covered medical, dental, vision Stock options program 401k program with 4% employer match Personal data plan reimbursement Annual professional development stipend Annual wellness stipend Workspace allotment Commuter benefits Life insurance Parental leave for all employees Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: Sydecar is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
