Job Summary:

The House Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Adult Family Home, including resident care, staff supervision, and maintenance of the home. The House Manager ensures that all residents receive personalized care and support while maintaining compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Resident Care Management:
2. • Ensure residents receive personalized care that meets their physical, emotional, and social needs.
   • Develop and implement care plans for each resident, in collaboration with healthcare providers and family members.
   • Monitor and document residents’ health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
   • Coordinate medical appointments, medication management, and any other healthcare needs.
   • Foster a home-like environment where residents feel comfortable and valued.
3. Staff Supervision and Training:
4. • Recruit, hire, and train care staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the needs of residents.
   • Supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and support as needed.
   • Create staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
   • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure clear communication and a collaborative work environment.
   • Ensure staff adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
5. Household Management:
6. • Oversee the daily operations of the home, including housekeeping, meal preparation, and maintenance.
   • Ensure the home is clean, safe, and well-maintained, addressing any issues promptly.
   • Manage the household budget, including purchasing supplies, groceries, and managing utility costs.
   • Coordinate and oversee activities and events for residents, promoting social interaction and engagement.
7. Regulatory Compliance:
8. • Ensure the home operates in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including those related to licensing, health, and safety.
   • Maintain accurate records for each resident, including care plans, medication logs, and incident reports.
   • Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits by regulatory agencies.
   • Implement and enforce all policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
9. Family and Community Relations:
10. • Serve as the primary point of contact for residents’ families, providing regular updates on their loved ones' care and well-being.
    • Address any concerns or issues raised by family members, resolving them in a timely and professional manner.
    • Foster positive relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
11. Emergency Preparedness:
12. • Develop and implement emergency plans for the home, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and emergency contact lists.
    • Train staff and residents on emergency procedures, ensuring everyone knows how to respond in case of an emergency.
    • Manage any emergency situations that arise, coordinating with emergency services and family members as needed.
