Registered Nurse- PACU

The Registered Nurse – PACU is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. This role involves close monitoring of vital signs, managing pain and post-operative symptoms, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during the critical recovery phase. The PACU nurse collaborates with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive post-operative care and facilitate smooth transitions to other care units or discharge. Key Responsibilities Monitor patients’ levels of consciousness and vital signs during recovery from anesthesia Administer medications for pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms Assess patients for signs of complications and intervene as necessary Document patient status, treatments, and clinical findings accurately Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals Educate patients and families on post-surgery care and recovery instructions Required Qualifications Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2 years of experience in a PACU or critical care setting Proficiency in monitoring equipment and electronic health records Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Preferred Qualifications Experience in surgical recovery or critical care environments Familiarity with hospital systems like Epic or Mediexcel Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) #J-18808-Ljbffr Compunnel, Inc.
