THE ROLE The Medical Assistant at Aesthetx is a full-scope clinical team member who supports our providers across both non-surgical aesthetic services and surgical plastic surgery — from injectable appointments, laser treatments, and aesthetic clinical visits through surgical consultations, pre‑op visits, and in‑clinic procedure support. This is a hands‑on, high‑standard role at a practice that operates across the full spectrum of plastic surgery and medical aesthetics. This is also an exceptional opportunity for candidates in a gap year before medical school, PA school, or nursing school. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Non-Surgical Clinical Support — Injectables & Aesthetic Treatments Room and prepare patients for injectable appointments (Botox, fillers, biostimulators, and related treatments) — vitals recorded, history reviewed, consent confirmed, and room set to provider preference before they arrive Assist injectors during treatment appointments: tray setup, product preparation, photography, and patient support throughout the procedure Set up and break down treatment rooms for laser, energy-based, and device treatments — correct settings confirmed, consumables stocked, and room reset between patients Support providers during chemical peels, microneedling, and other in‑clinic aesthetic procedures as directed Capture clinical before/after photography per Aesthetx protocol — consistent lighting, angle, and framing for every treatment category Educate patients on post‑treatment care for non‑surgical services — what to expect, what to avoid, and when to call the clinic Surgical Consultation & Pre/Post-Operative Support Prepare patients and exam rooms for surgical consultations — history gathered, forms completed, room configured, and all materials ready before the surgeon enters Assist surgeons during consultations by documenting clinical notes, capturing measurements or markings as directed, and ensuring patient questions are recorded accurately in the EMR Conduct pre‑operative patient visits: review surgical instructions, verify medical clearances, confirm medication holds, and document all required pre‑op assessments Prepare pre‑op packets, consent forms, and surgical marking documentation per surgeon preference Communicate pre‑op and post‑op instructions clearly and empathetically — patients are navigating a significant process; this interaction sets the tone for their entire experience Conduct post‑operative visits: assess incision sites and healing as directed, remove sutures or drains per protocol, and document all findings in real time Identify and elevate any signs of post‑operative complications or abnormal findings to the attending surgeon immediately — no delays In-Clinic Surgical Procedure Assistance Provide direct support during in‑clinic plastic surgery procedures — instrument handling, sterile field maintenance, and anticipating the surgeon's next step without being asked Maintain strict sterile technique during all in‑clinic procedures without exception — identify and immediately address any breach Break down and reset procedure rooms after each case — sharps disposal, instrument decontamination, surface disinfection, restocked and ready for the next patient Patient Flow & Clinical Operations Manage patient rooming and flow across both surgical and non‑surgical appointments — no provider should be waiting on a room or a patient Coordinate with front desk and scheduling on appointment prep, patient timing, and same‑day adjustments Monitor and maintain clinical supply levels for both surgical and aesthetic treatment rooms — flag shortages before they impact care Manage clinical inventory, product expiration tracking, and supply organization in coordination with the Materials Manager Compliance, Safety & Documentation Maintain full HIPAA compliance in every patient interaction, documentation entry, and conversation within the clinic Follow all infection control, sterile technique, and clinic safety policies without exception across both surgical and non‑surgical environments Report any patient safety concern, near‑miss, or compliance gap to the Clinical Supervisor the same day it occurs Ensure all EMR documentation — consultation notes, pre‑op records, treatment notes, post‑op entries, and patient instructions — is complete, accurate, and timely WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required High school diploma or GED; Medical Assistant certificate or diploma from an accredited program required 2+ years of MA experience in a plastic surgery, dermatology, medical spa, or aesthetic clinical environment — experience across both surgical and non‑surgical services strongly preferred Current BLS/CPR certification Demonstrated experience rooming and supporting patients in an injectable, laser, or aesthetic treatment environment Proficiency in sterile technique, infection control, and instrument handling for in‑clinic procedures Experience supporting surgical consultations, pre‑operative, and/or post‑operative visits Proficiency with EMR documentation — Nextech experience a strong plus Strong patient communication skills — able to support patients through anxiety, answer clinical questions within scope, and work collaboratively with surgeons, injectors, and clinical staff Preferred Familiarity with injectable products: neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport), dermal fillers, biostimulators Experience with laser, IPL, and energy‑based device treatments in a clinical setting Certified Medical Assistant (CMA — AAMA) or equivalent clinical certification Experience with clinical before/after photography Currently pursuing or planning to apply to medical school, PA school, or nursing school — this role offers meaningful clinical hours in a high‑acuity, multi‑specialty environment Bilingual (Spanish / English) a plus WHAT YOU'LL GAIN Generous PTO + 8 Paid Holidays 401(k) with Employer Match FSA & HSA options Life Insurance, Short & Long‑Term Disability, and Legal Plan provided at no cost Complimentary aesthetic services including Botox, facials, and more, plus discounts on our full product and treatment menu Gourmet coffee, fresh snacks, and a fully stocked kitchen every day Frequent team lunches, catered and on us Themed employee events and celebrations throughout the year As outlined in the employee discount office policy. #J-18808-Ljbffr AESTHETX
