About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ years in Emergency Department at a Level 1 or 2 Trauma facility License: Current RN License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (from AHA only), TNCC, NIHSS (must obtain prior to start if not submitted) Must-Have: 1 year Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 facility or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility Description: This position requires an experienced RN to provide direct patient care activities for all age groups. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The RN will monitor and coordinate care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Demonstrated skill in human relations and communication is essential. Candidates must have demonstrated clinical expertise in their area of responsibility. The RN will stand and walk most of the time on duty and may need to lift and push patients. The facility operates in a clean, air-conditioned environment. Physical demands include the ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, and pinch up to 15 lbs. The role requires kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. Patient ratios are typically 4:1, but may vary during surge situations. The facility is a busy urban trauma center, serving a high volume of patients daily. The RN will uphold patient rights and confidentiality while maintaining professional accountability for care provided. This position functions within the scope of nursing preparation and adheres to established nursing practice guidelines. Flexibility, determination, and decisiveness are key personality traits that will contribute to success in this role. The RN will work collaboratively with other departments to provide the best patient outcomes.
