Job Summary:
AVID Team Leaders cultivate a culture of collaboration and trust while guiding colleagues in analyzing data to enhance instructional practices. As the liaison for the AVID program, they lead efforts to align school-wide initiatives with AVID School Improvement Goals and ensure the collection and analysis of relevant data to support certification and ongoing improvement. Additionally, they represent the school's AVID goals at district coordination meetings and provide leadership in coordinating AVID initiatives at the campus level. Qualifications:
Overall evaluation rating of proficient or higher, consistently demonstrating effective teaching practice. Evaluation:
The supervisor shall annually evaluate the team leader. Such evaluation shall be reviewed with the team leader and made part of his/her permanent record. Reports to:
Building Principal or AVID District Director Terms of Employment:
This is a 9-month stipend position. Depending on the review of school needs and the evaluation process, the term may be extended annually.

- Leads colleagues to agree on standards, follow the curriculum, use common pacing charts, and develop shared assessments.
- Collaborates with colleagues to extend knowledge of content, content-specific pedagogy, and how students learn.
- Supports systematic interventions that ensure students receive additional time and support for learning when they struggle and extend and enrich learning when they have mastered the intended outcomes.
- Facilitates selecting and implementing appropriate evidence-based strategies to achieve student and educator learning goals.
- Assists with the recognition of using WICOR in the classroom.
- Act as the AVID program's liaison with the principal, other faculty members, and the AVID District Director/Coordinator of College and Career Readiness.
- Represents the building's goals and works at district coordination meetings with other Campus Coordinators and the AVID District Director.
- Provide the leadership for developing and maintaining AVID School Improvement Goals for school-wide initiatives.
- Facilitates and collaborates with the members of the grade-level teams to analyze information and data to support the quality implementation of SIP goals.
- Facilitates the collection of AVID data related to the AVID certification instruments and is responsible for certification and data collection, including engaging the staff in collecting evidence and providing data.
- Assist with the representation/coordination of AVID at parent events.
- Attends and actively participates in regular meetings with Building Leadership/Department Coordinator meetings to facilitate and support AVID SIP goals.
- Attends and actively participates in monthly scheduled district campus coordinator meetings.
