Details 13-week contract on the Labor & Delivery unit (708) of an acute care hospital, 3rd floor Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM No on-call requirements 4 weekend shifts required per schedule Level 4 designated maternal center caring for the most complex patients at any gestation 22-bed unit including 16 labor beds, staffed with approximately 100 RNs and support staff Typical staffing includes 1 charge nurse, minimum 2 surgical techs, 1 unit clerk, and staff RNs to census Patient ratios of 1:2 and 1:1 Performs vaginal and cesarean section deliveries, tubal ligations, cerclage placement/removal, D&C, C-hyst, and PASD cases Uses CPN and Meditech EMR systems Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor & Delivery Experience with high-risk maternal patients required Circulating OR and triage experience required Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN, intermediate or advanced) or NCC-EFM required Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) card, Advanced 9th Edition, required BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted) No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted) One professional reference required 5 years of experience preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, team-oriented Labor & Delivery environment Must be a strong multi-tasker able to change directions quickly Navy blue scrub color required Unit uses standardized order sets available for review on-site Recognized as America's Best Maternity Hospital 2023 by Newsweek Leapfrog Grade A hospital, the only one in Texas with straight A's since the list began Holds Level 4 Maternal Designation, the highest level of care in the state of Texas Very tenured unit with long-term, supportive leadership Manager and Director assist with patient care when census requires Unit currently undergoing renovation to update all patient rooms Permanent positions available for nights and weekends Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted American Traveler Job ID P-720987.
