Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to join our team at a large distribution center in Davenport, Iowa. This contract-to-hire opportunity focuses on accurate picking, packing, and movement of parts, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and attention to detail rather than production speed.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort boxes and stage them on designated pallets for forklift operators
• Pick and pack products ranging from small items to large machine parts
• Safely operate lifting equipment to move and position materials
• Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and verify inventory accurately
• Load and unload semi-trailers and freight shipments
• Follow detailed work instructions to ensure order accuracy and prevent errors
• Assist with order preparation, packaging, and shipment staging
• Maintain organized inventory handling and support daily warehouse operations
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment guidelines
• Work mandatory overtime , including extended shifts and occasional Saturdays
• Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, diverse work environment

Required Qualifications

• 3–6 months of warehouse or distribution experience
• Experience with picking and packing in a warehouse setting
• Ability to learn and effectively use RF scanning equipment
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules as needed
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work well in a team-based environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience ( training and certification available )
• Experience loading and unloading trucks or semi-trailers
• Experience in general labor or distribution environments
• Familiarity with inventory control and order-picking processes

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
