Music Therapist, Day & Weekend Shift, Behavioral Health

Music Therapist – Expressive Therapy Department Adventist HealthCare Behavioral Health seeks an experienced Music Therapist to support our mission of extending God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Responsibilities Organize and conduct therapeutic activities such as dance, music, arts & crafts, social activities, trips, group discussions, and special programs according to patients' needs, capabilities, and interests. Participate in the development of treatment plans for patients after evaluating them based on medical records. Document specialized therapy assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in patients’ charts. Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by demonstrating knowledge of safety issues and proper use of equipment and supplies. Assist in ordering and maintaining expressive therapy supplies and equipment. Observe changes in patients’ behavior and health condition and report to RN. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., recreation therapy, music therapy, art therapy); Master’s degree preferred. Board certification as MT‑BC and licensure in MD as LPMT (Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred). Minimum 2 years’ experience in an acute‑care psychiatric setting preferred. Board certification/registration preferred. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
