Our client in Irving is looking for their next Accounting Manager. The role is hybrid. This person support all aspects of the monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, inventory, revenue recognition (including percentage-of-completion), and consolidation reporting for their Japan-based parent company. This person support all aspects of the monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, inventory, revenue recognition (including percentage-of-completion), and consolidation reporting for their Japan-based parent company. Key Responsibilities
- Supports and eventually leads the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Prepares and reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses.
- Maintains accurate balance sheet schedules, including inventory reserves, warranty reserves, and contract assets.
- Ensures timely submission of financial packages, including full P&L, B/S, flux commentary, and required schedules.
- Assists with external auditors and provides required documentation.
- Oversees and maintains positive relationships with external tax consultants, ensuring timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Applies US GAAP and IFRS where applicable (inventory, revenue recognition, capitalized leases, reserves, etc.)
- Supports percentage-of-completion accounting for large P25 public-safety system projects.
- Maintains compliance with J-SOX internal control requirements and assist with testing and remediation.
- Collaborates with Sales, Vendor Management, Supply Chain, Order Management and Engineering to understand financial impacts.
- Supports budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Coordinates with affiliates on intercompany reporting.
- Provides financial insights to senior leadership and the parent company.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- CPA or working toward certification required
- Must be proficient with ERP computer applications and MS Office products.
- Experience working with SQL or other database packages.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS exposure a plus).
- 5+ years' related accounting experience.
- Supervisory experience in accounting preferred
- 4+ years' preparing GAAP consolidations and financial reports.
- Experience in maintaining and analyzing general ledger accounts.
