Job Overview Area Fellowship Manager (AFM) – MedTech Sales, Channel Sales – MedTech (Commission). Location: Chicago, IL. This field‑based role supports Abiomed programs and activities related to fellowship physicians across cardiology specialties. Key Responsibilities Implement fellowship program engagement strategy for aligned cardiac segments with input from Physician Program Directors, Professional Education, and Commercial Team. Promote and deliver educational content for fellows in collaboration with clinical team and key opinion leaders in the cardiovascular space. Communicate upcoming fellowship engagement opportunities to field and fellowship programs to ensure adoption of learning curriculum, best practices, and transition to practice. Provide feedback on strategic implementation and assessment of needs for new or modified fellows’ programs based on follow‑up, customer satisfaction, utilization, and metrics. Handle all communication and follow‑up with fellows at events, attendees, and field referrals; track fellows throughout the educational journey and collaborate with Physician Program Managers and Commercial Team regarding outgoing fellows and transition to practice. Ensure Abiomed field sales and clinical personnel are aware of programs, registration, and enrollment processes; attend key training programs, symposia, and conferences related to cardiology and mechanical circulatory support. Communicate business‑related issues or opportunities to next management level. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a science‑related field. Required experience: 5+ years in a customer‑facing cardiology role (e.g., Interventional Cardiology, Heart Failure, Cardiothoracic Surgery) with experience engaging fellowship programs and directors; 3‑5 years of sales or clinical track record; proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence without direct authority. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to align teams, manage competing priorities, and drive execution in a complex environment. Experience with large data sets, collection, and analysis; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Clinical understanding of cardiology and mechanical circulatory support; experience handling key customer relationships and key opinion leaders. Advanced proficiency in MCS and Abiomed products (preferred). Benefits and Compensation Base salary range: $102,000 – $204,000. Competitive sales incentive compensation program.
