Position Overview:

\n

Republican Jobs is recruiting on behalf of a client, a conservative media-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and support the organization's financial reporting and compliance activities.

\n

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience managing financial transactions and reconciliations, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This individual will play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting audits, and improving internal accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily accounting operations.
\n
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial close activities.
\n
• Maintain accurate general ledger records, fixed asset schedules, and prepaid expense accounts.
\n
• Assist with financial statement preparation, internal reporting, and financial analysis.
\n
• Support annual audits, financial reviews, and accounting compliance requirements.
\n
• Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
\n
• Monitor financial records, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
\n
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate expense tracking and financial documentation.
\n
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve financial reporting processes.
\n
• Maintain organized financial records and support ongoing internal controls.

Requirements:

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
\n
• 2–5 years of professional accounting experience preferred.
\n
• Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
\n
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
\n
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
\n
• Familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting, audits, and accounting compliance preferred.
\n
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
\n
• Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
\n
• CPA designation or equivalent accounting certification preferred.
\n
• Alignment with the organization's conservative principles and mission.
