Account Supervisor Job Description The Account Supervisor (AS) is a brand champion, demonstrating strong ownership of the brand and keeping the focus on brand success. Often, an AS has toward mastering the following seven core competencies. Client Relations Develops and maintains harmonious client relationships Has daily contact with the key client contacts Ensures client is kept apprised of status of all jobs and ongoing progress Ensures documentation and correspondence are issues promptly and accurately Attends all client meetings/conventions/market research and handles timely follow-up Delivers recommendations for programs, big ideas, and incremental income Represents agency POV Handles objections well and defends agency position/work Acts as arbiter and solves problems as needed among the account team Seeks opportunities to continually strengthen quality of client relations Brand Championing Ensure all members of the brand team keep focused on what's best for the brand Thoroughly understands the brand positioning Challenges strategies, client direction, market research results, programs or ideas that are not aligned with the brand positioning Ensures all strategies, creative, and tactics developed support the brand positioning Continually seeks brand building opportunities/ways to overcome obstacles Demonstrates passion for the brand and commitment to maximizing its success Celebrates brand achievements with the team Marketing/Strategic Savvy Possesses an intimate knowledge of the market to which their brand belongs Thoroughly understands the product and its performance Analyzes and extracts pertinent findings/issues from all available marketing data Understands the objectives and outcomes of common market research methodologies Appropriately interprets market research data Actively participates in strategic development Develops or contributes to development of copy strategy/positioning Ensures development of a strategic communications plan with alignment between issues, strategies programming Understands and appropriately utilizes agency strategic tools Creative/Branding Leads creative and account teams in the development of breakthrough creatives Ensures high quality agency output, reflective of consistently superior creative product Contributes to the development of the creative product/campaign Recognizes world-class creative and sells it persuasively Constructively reviews creative to enhance its impact on building the brand Manages objections to the creative product and ensures proper interpretation of client comments Champions the creative product Financial Acumen Understands income sources and client compensation structure Maintains financial control of all client work (estimates, jobs, fees, billing) Manages client demands versus budget Assists in financial control of account, both manpower utilization and profitability Generates project lists for fee development and initiates fee developmentPrepares forecasts and updates regularly Identifies opportunities to realize incremental income Team Building/Leadership Spearheads preparation of strategic options, copy strategy and creative Fosters teamwork and resolves conflict Motivates brand team members to give optimum attention to all levels of detail Provides clear direction and establishes expectations for subordinates Delegates tasks as appropriate while ensuring quality meets agency standards Evaluates performance of account team members and makes developmental recommendations Demonstrates receptivity to developing managerial skills Knows when to ask for help Identifies and pursues new hire opportunities Fundamentals Client and brand knowledge Advertising acumen Excellent interpersonal and listening skills Exercises good judgment Works well with others; team player Manages time well Excellent verbal and written skills Solid presentation skills Professional conduct Demonstrates passion for the brand and creative product #J-18808-Ljbffr
