Classroom Assistant

STEPPING STONES MONTESSORI SCHOOLS

Stepping Stones Montessori School, a private Montessori school serving children ages 12 months to 15 years, seeks experienced candidates to join our school in the 2023-24 academic year.

Stepping Stones Montessori School offers programs in Children's House (ages 3-6), Lower Elementary (ages 6-9), Upper Elementary (ages 9-12), and Middle School (ages 12-15). In addition, Stepping Stones offers robust after-school programs for Children's House and Elementary. Classroom assistant positions are open for Elementary and After-School Care.

Since 1983, Stepping Stones Montessori School has offered a premier Montessori education in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our students leave our program confident and self-directed, with a love of learning. Our campus is located in Central Grand Rapids, one mile north of the "Medical Mile". In addition to our main campus, our school hosts a Middle School program at a nearby farm.

Roles and Responsibilities

Assume proactive responsibility for student safety
Assist students in resolving conflict and differences
Ensure materials are available and in order for student use
Ability to supervise children outdoors in all seasons
Willingness to observe children
Open to learning Montessori principles
Able to set proper boundaries

Skills & Characteristics

Associates Degree or Comparable Experience
Experience with children
Understanding of Montessori principles
Relates joyfully to children
