Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive and engaging environment for the 2026-2027 school year! This full-time, contract opportunity is based in the San Rafael area, focusing on an upper elementary SDC classroom. You’ll have the chance to help students thrive while working alongside dedicated education professionals within a positive community.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current California CTC certification, Mild/Moderate required
- Experience with upper elementary students preferred
- Passion for individualized instruction and inclusive classroom practices
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet students’ diverse needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Instruct and support students in an upper elementary SDC (Special Day Class) setting, implementing IEPs and differentiated curriculum
- Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district policies
- Work closely with general education teachers, aides, specialists, and families to foster student success
- Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote a positive learning atmosphere
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and school planning as needed
