Associate General CounselJob No: 498961Work Type: Staff Full-timeDepartment: Office of the General CounselLocation: Wilf Campus, 500 West 185th Street, NY, NYCategories: LegalPosition SummaryThe Office of the General Counsel of Yeshiva University is seeking an Associate General Counsel who will provide support to the Office of the General Counsel in connection with representing the legal interests of the University in relation to diverse areas of the law, including contracts, technology, litigation, regulatory, not‑for‑profit governance, trusts and estates, real estate, and tax-related matters.This role is suited for a mid‑level to experienced attorney who is self‑motivated and inspired by our mission.Position ResponsibilitiesDrafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other business agreementsProviding legal advice and guidance on matters involving:Intellectual propertyTechnologyNot‑for‑profit, tax‑exempt, and board governanceEducation lawReal estateEmployment lawAnalyzing statutes, regulations, and procedures and advising on compliance, academic, and education law mattersSupervising responses to requests for information and subpoenas and overseeing litigation handled by outside counselCommunicating independently with outside counsel and representatives of external agenciesOverseeing the work of legal internsAssisting with donor agreements and trust and estate mattersSupporting the General Counsel and Associate General Counsels on various matters, including high‑level litigation under supervisionPerforming other duties as assignedExperience & Education BackgroundJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school10+ years of relevant legal experienceAdmission to the New York State Bar and in good standing, authorized to practice law in New York StateSkills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local lawsStrong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to analyze case law and provide clear, actionable recommendationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSalary Range$175,000 - $200,000About UsYeshiva University is dedicated to academic excellence, intellectual exploration, and the advancement of timeless values that shape and impact lives.
