Position Overview Exemption Status: Non‑Exempt. Hiring Range: $39.81–$71.67. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM. Shift: Day Shift, 8 hours. Hours: 40. Cost Center: 24050–3578 (Cat Scan). Signing bonus may be available (subject to eligibility). Role Summary In collaboration with the Director of Imaging Services, the Lead CT Tech is responsible for delegating, developing, and implementing imaging procedures; overseeing efficiency, productivity, and quality in the CT department; coordinating equipment quality control; ordering supplies; improving departmental performance; supervising staff; managing conflict; and facilitating communication within the hospital. Major Responsibilities Reports to the DI Director. Monitors workflow at both campuses, adjusts staffing as needed, and coordinates scheduling of add‑on patients. Informs the DI Director and appropriate service personnel of system problems and documents them accurately and completely. Provides exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff, remains calm in stressful situations, and demonstrates strong problem‑solving skills. Implements protocol changes and updates protocols in the scanner. Maintains current policies and procedures in CT. Conducts CT safety education for all necessary staff. Completes the ACR accreditation application and participates in the ACR processes and guidelines for both campuses. Promotes positive teamwork within the CT department. Supervisor Level Responsibilities Supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training; makes recommendations on hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations; resolves grievances and other personnel problems. Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems; evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved. Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over staff to foster teamwork and motivation, and integrates efforts with system‑wide initiatives. Encourages diverse views, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to a professional, respectful, tolerant environment for all employees, patients, and visitors. Integrates diversity into departmental objectives such as hiring, promotions, training, and vendor selection. Participates in performance‑improvement initiatives and uses quality improvement in daily operations. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as the Joint Commission and DPH, and develops procedures to meet regulatory requirements. Ensures department compliance with hospital policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures. Ensures adequate equipment and supplies for the department. Develops and maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations and requirements. Performs similar or related duties as required or directed. All responsibilities are essential job functions. Position Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology. Registration or registration eligibility by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensure to operate radiology equipment in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. BLS certification required before completion of the 90‑day probationary period. 2–5 years of CT experience with progressive responsibilities. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements if they provide proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed.
