Production Foreman

Our client is an innovative environmental technology business developing commercial biomass processing operations across Florida. The company converts forestry, agricultural and land-clearing residues into biochar through mobile production systems, supporting sustainable land management, carbon reduction and resource recovery. Following recent funding success, the business is entering a significant growth phase and is expanding its field operations across Central Florida. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing daily mobile biomass-to-biochar production activities across project sites throughout Central Florida. Reporting to the Operations Leadership team, the Production Foreman will oversee field crews, coordinate production activities, maintain equipment standards and ensure safe, efficient site operations. The successful candidate will play an important role in establishing operational processes as the business scales. The role will involve regular travel to customer and project locations across Central Florida. Responsibilities Lead daily biomass processing and biochar production activities. Coordinate production schedules to maximise operational efficiency and equipment utilisation. Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule and to operational standards. Monitor production output and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Supervise and support field operators across multiple project locations. Provide training, coaching and day-to-day leadership. Promote a positive safety culture and high standards of performance. Allocate labour and resources to meet operational requirements. Equipment & Maintenance Ensure operators complete routine inspections, servicing, cleaning and preventative maintenance to maintain equipment reliability and accountability. Monitor equipment condition and coordinate repairs where required. Maintain accountability for equipment cleanliness, servicing and operational readiness. Work closely with operators to minimise downtime. Reporting & Compliance Maintain accurate records relating to production volumes, equipment hours, fuel usage and downtime. Support inventory management and operational reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with company procedures, environmental requirements and health and safety standards. Communicate regularly with senior leadership regarding production performance, staffing and operational priorities. Candidate Requirements Minimum five years’ experience within forestry, biomass, agriculture, land clearing, heavy equipment or a related operational environment. Previous experience leading field crews or production teams. Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and preventative maintenance. Experience coordinating production activities within an outdoor operational environment. Comfortable working outdoors and travelling extensively throughout Central Florida. Strong organisational and communication skills. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify equipment issues before they become operational failures. Valid driver’s licence. Forestry harvesting operations. Excavators, loaders, skid steers or tractors. Biomass processing or biochar production. Mechanical troubleshooting and field repairs. Remuneration The starting salary for this position is $72,000 per annum. The package also includes future performance-based bonus opportunities, with health insurance and retirement benefits being introduced as the business continues to grow.
