Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (OR DaysOption) provides expert perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room, supporting safe surgical outcomes before, during, and after procedures. The role coordinates patient readiness, maintains sterile technique, and ensures accurate documentation in alignment with clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for surgery by verifying identity, procedure details, consent, and pre-op requirements.
• Maintain aseptic technique and set up/maintain sterile fields throughout operative activities.
• Assist the surgical team by anticipating equipment, supplies, and surgeon preferences within scope.
• Monitor patient status during procedures and escalate concerns promptly.
• Document perioperative nursing actions, assessments, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Participate in unit orientation and complete required onboarding modules/transcripts.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license and meet credentialing requirements for the role.
• Possess BLS certification at start of assignment.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of Operating Room experience (preferred).
• Perform effectively in day shift and call coverage schedules as assigned.
• Show prior perioperative or travel experience (preferred).
• Complete compliance requirements, including pending licensure processes as permitted.
